Virizion 103/101 · Plasma Blast

Virizion is Pokédex #640, generation 5 (Unova). Virizion is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 110 HP.

Virizion sits at 103/101 in Plasma Blast, position 103 of 105. Before it is 102 Exeggcute, and after it is 104 Dusknoir. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on August 14, 2013. The printed size is 101. This checklist is longer, at 105 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 101. The listed rarity is Rare Secret.

The attack Double Draw lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Draw 2 cards. Leaf Wallop is another attack lists 40 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. During your next turn, this Pokémon's Leaf Wallop does 40 more damage (before applying Weakness and Resistance). Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Water -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This extremely rare Pokémon is a different color than usual. It is very hard to find."

Virizion (#640) has 19 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Virizion BW70/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Secret. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Ayaka Yoshida illustrated this one. 12 other cards of Virizion list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ayaka Yoshida. I count 128 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Plasma Blast set binder is where a full Plasma Blast set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Virizion can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). Themed lists that include this exact card are Swords of Justice. I still need this card.
