Machamp 50/101 · Plasma Blast

Plasma Blast is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on August 14, 2013. The printed size is 101. This checklist is longer, at 105 cards. Machamp is 50/101, in position 50 of 105 on this checklist. Before it is 49 Machamp, and after it is 51 Throh. The listed rarity is Rare.

Machamp is a Stage 2 Fighting Pokémon with 140 HP. In the Pokédex this is Machamp (#068), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Machoke. In this catalog that name is Machoke (#067).

Kouki Saitou illustrated this card. The same name is on 652 other cards in the catalog.

Machamp (#068) has 48 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 30 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Machamp 8/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. 48 other cards of Machamp list a different HP.

The attack Knock Off lists 60 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Discard a random card from your opponent's hand. Reinforced Lariat is another attack lists 80+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. If this Pokémon has a Pokémon Tool card attached to it, this attack does 40 more damage. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Its four muscled arms slam foes with powerful punches and chops at blinding speed."

I keep a set binder for Plasma Blast, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Plasma Blast set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Machamp can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
