Torkoal 18/108 · Dark Explorers

Torkoal is a Basic Fire Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Torkoal (#324), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this card. The same name is on 471 other cards in the catalog.

Torkoal (#324) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Torkoal 12/97 in Dragon (2003). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 22 other cards of Torkoal list a different HP.

The attack Flame Cloak lists 10 damage. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, attach a Fire Energy card from your discard pile to this Pokémon. Heat Blast is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Fire, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It burns coal inside its shell for energy. It blows out black soot if it is endangered."

I keep a set binder for Dark Explorers, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Dark Explorers set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Torkoal can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
