Kyogre-EX 26/108 · Dark Explorers

Kyogre is Pokédex #382, generation 3 (Hoenn). Kyogre-EX is a Basic EX Water Pokémon with 170 HP.

Kyogre-EX sits at 26/108 in Dark Explorers, position 26 of 111. Before it is 25 Vaporeon, and after it is 27 Piplup. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on May 9, 2012. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

The attack Smash Turn lists 30 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. You may switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Dual Splash is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. This attack does 50 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Kyogre (#382) has 32 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Kyogre ex 1/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Kyogre ex, while this one is Kyogre-EX. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 170 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Hiromichi Sugiyama illustrated that card, and Shizurow illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 4. 31 other cards of Kyogre list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shizurow. I count 79 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Dark Explorers set binder is where a full Dark Explorers set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kyogre can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
