Beedrill 3/116 · Plasma Freeze

Plasma Freeze is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on May 8, 2013. The printed size is 116. This checklist is longer, at 122 cards. Beedrill is 3/116, in position 3 of 122 on this checklist. Before it is 2 Kakuna, and after it is 4 Exeggcute. The listed rarity is Rare.

Beedrill is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Beedrill (#015), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Kakuna. In this catalog that name is Kakuna (#014).

kawayoo illustrated this card. The same name is on 209 other cards in the catalog.

Beedrill (#015) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Beedrill 17/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and kawayoo illustrated this one. 25 other cards of Beedrill list a different HP.

The attack Swift Sting lists 20+ damage. The cost is Grass. If this Pokémon has full HP, this attack does 40 more damage, and the Defending Pokémon is now Confused and Poisoned. Pierce is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. The flavor text reads "Its best attack involves flying around at high speed, striking with poison needles, then flying off."

I keep a set binder for Plasma Freeze, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Plasma Freeze set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Beedrill can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
