Nidorina 41/116 · Plasma Freeze

Plasma Freeze is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on May 8, 2013. The printed size is 116. This checklist is longer, at 122 cards. Nidorina is 41/116, in position 41 of 122 on this checklist. Before it is 40 Nidoran ♀, and after it is 42 Nidoqueen. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Nidorina is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Nidorina (#030), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Nidoran ♀. In this catalog that name is Nidoran♀ (#029). The card lists Nidoqueen, Nidoqueen (#031) under evolves to.

Atsuko Nishida illustrated this card. The same name is on 408 other cards in the catalog.

Nidorina (#030) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Nidorina 40/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Atsuko Nishida illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 3. 10 other cards of Nidorina list a different HP.

The attack Poison Sting lists 20 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Poisoned. Double Kick is another attack lists 40× damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Flip 2 coins. This attack does 40 damage times the number of heads. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "When it senses danger, it raises all the barbs on its body. These barbs grow slower than Nidorino's."

I keep a set binder for Plasma Freeze, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Plasma Freeze set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Nidorina can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Atsuko Nishida cards, later series. I still need this card.
