Latias-EX 85/116 · Plasma Freeze

Plasma Freeze is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on May 8, 2013. The printed size is 116. This checklist is longer, at 122 cards. Latias-EX is 85/116, in position 85 of 122 on this checklist. Before it is 84 Kingdra, and after it is 86 Latios-EX. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Latias-EX is a Basic EX Dragon Pokémon with 160 HP. In the Pokédex this is Latias (#380), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Ryo Ueda illustrated this card. The same name is on 462 other cards in the catalog.

Latias (#380) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Latias 14/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Latias, while this one is Latias-EX. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 160 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Ryo Ueda illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 32 other cards of Latias list a different HP.

Bright Down is listed as Ability. Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon by your opponent's Pokémon with Abilities. The attack Barrier Break lists 70 damage. The cost is Fire, Psychic, Colorless. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness, Resistance, or any other effects on the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Dragon ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Plasma Freeze, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Plasma Freeze set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Latias can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Latias and Latios. I still need this card.
