Rayquaza 20/95 · Call of Legends

Call of Legends is a set in the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on February 9, 2011. The printed size is 95. This checklist is longer, at 106 cards. Rayquaza is 20/95, in position 20 of 106 on this checklist. Before it is 19 Palkia, and after it is 21 Smeargle. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Rayquaza is a Basic Colorless Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Rayquaza (#384), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Ryo Ueda illustrated this card. The same name is on 462 other cards in the catalog.

Rayquaza (#384) has 59 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 31 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Rayquaza ex 39/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Rayquaza ex, while this one is Rayquaza. Both list 100 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 53 other cards of Rayquaza list a different HP.

The attack Inferno Spear lists 100 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Lightning, Lightning. Discard a Fire Energy and a Lightning Energy attached to Rayquaza. Weakness is Colorless ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It flies in the ozone layer, way up high in the sky. Until recently, no one had ever seen it."

I keep a set binder for Call of Legends, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Call of Legends set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rayquaza can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza and All Rayquaza cards. I still need this card.
