Steelix 38/130 · Diamond & Pearl

Steelix is Pokédex #208, generation 2 (Johto). Steelix is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 110 HP. The card lists level 50. The card says it evolves from Onix. In this catalog that name is Onix (#095).

Steelix sits at 38/130 in Diamond & Pearl, position 38 of 130. Before it is 37 Snorlax, and after it is 39 Vespiquen. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on May 1, 2007. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Slam lists 30× damage. The cost is Metal. Flip 2 coins. This attack does 30 damage times the number of heads. Metal Slash is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Metal, Metal, Colorless, Colorless. Steelix can't attack during your next turn. Weakness is Fire +20. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "Tempered underground under high pressure and heat, its body is harder than any metal."

Steelix (#208) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Steelix 15/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). Both list 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. 30 other cards of Steelix list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kouki Saitou. I count 652 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Diamond & Pearl set binder is where a full Diamond & Pearl set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Steelix can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
