Infernape 5/130 · Diamond & Pearl

Infernape is Pokédex #392, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Infernape is a Stage 2 Fire Pokémon with 100 HP. The card lists level 40. The card says it evolves from Monferno. In this catalog that name is Monferno (#391).

Infernape sits at 5/130 in Diamond & Pearl, position 5 of 130. Before it is 4 Empoleon, and after it is 6 Lucario. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on May 1, 2007. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Meteor Punch lists 30× damage. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin until you get tails. This attack does 30 damage times the number of heads. Flare Blitz is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire. Discard all Fire Energy attached to Infernape. Weakness is Water +30. The flavor text reads "It uses a special kind of martial arts involving all its limbs. Its fire never goes out."

Infernape (#392) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2024. The earliest other card is Infernape LV.X 121/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card is named Infernape LV.X, while this one is Infernape. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo LV.X, and here it is Rare Holo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Nakaoka illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Infernape list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Nakaoka. I count 46 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Diamond & Pearl set binder is where a full Diamond & Pearl set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Infernape can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Sinnoh starters. I still need this card.
