Marill 88/130 · Diamond & Pearl

Diamond & Pearl is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on May 1, 2007. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. Marill is 88/130, in position 88 of 130 on this checklist. Before it is 87 Magnemite, and after it is 89 Meditite. The listed rarity is Common.

Marill is a Basic Water Pokémon with 60 HP. The card lists level 12. In the Pokédex this is Marill (#183), generation 2 (Johto). The card lists Azumarill, Azumarill (#184) under evolves to.

Atsuko Nishida illustrated this card. The same name is on 408 other cards in the catalog.

Marill (#183) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Marill 29/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 60 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Common. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Atsuko Nishida illustrated this one. 21 other cards of Marill list a different HP.

The attack Rollout lists 10+ damage. The cost is Colorless. If Marill is evolved from Azurill, this attack does 10 damage plus 20 more damage. Splashing Turn is another attack lists 20 damage. The cost is Water, Water. Switch Marill with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning +10. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Using its tail as a float, it dives underwater. It likes eating plants that grow on river bottoms."

I keep a set binder for Diamond & Pearl, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Diamond & Pearl set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Marill can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Atsuko Nishida cards, early series. I still need this card.
