Absol 21/132 · Secret Wonders

Absol is Pokédex #359, generation 3 (Hoenn). Absol is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 70 HP. The card lists level 31.

Absol sits at 21/132 in Secret Wonders, position 21 of 132. Before it is 20 Venusaur, and after it is 22 Arcanine. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on November 1, 2007. The printed size is 132, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Baleful Wind lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Choose a card from your opponent's hand without looking and discard it. If you discarded a Trainer, Supporter, or Stadium card, choose 1 more card from your opponent's hand without looking and discard it. Raid is another attack lists 10 damage. The cost is Darkness. If you played Absol from your hand during this turn, this attack's base damage is 40 instead of 10. Weakness is Fighting +20. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It senses disasters coming and appears before people only to warn them of impending danger."

Absol (#359) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Absol 1/97 in Dragon (2003). Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Naoyo Kimura illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 24 other cards of Absol list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ken Sugimori. I count 1,112 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Secret Wonders set binder is where a full Secret Wonders set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Absol can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
