Ambipom 35/100 · Majestic Dawn

Majestic Dawn is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on May 1, 2008. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. Ambipom is 35/100, in position 35 of 100 on this checklist. Before it is 34 Vaporeon, and after it is 36 Fearow. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Ambipom is a Stage 1 Colorless Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 34. In the Pokédex this is Ambipom (#424), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Aipom. In this catalog that name is Aipom (#190).

Ken Sugimori illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,112 other cards in the catalog.

Ambipom (#424) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 11 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2025. The earliest other card is Ambipom 3/123 in Mysterious Treasures (2007). Both list 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 8 other cards of Ambipom list a different HP.

The attack Astonish lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Choose 1 card from your opponent's hand without looking. Look at that card you chose, then have your opponent shuffle that card into his or her deck. Hang High is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 40 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Fighting +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "To eat, it deftly shucks nuts with its two tails. It rarely uses its arms now."

I keep a set binder for Majestic Dawn, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Majestic Dawn set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Ambipom can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
