Mewtwo 20/165 · Expedition Base Set

Mewtwo is Pokédex #150, generation 1 (Kanto). Mewtwo is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 70 HP.

Mewtwo sits at 20/165 in Expedition Base Set, position 20 of 165. Before it is 19 Mew, and after it is 21 Ninetales. The set belongs to the E-Card series. It was released on September 15, 2002. The printed size is 165, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Hypnosis lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Asleep. Psychic is another attack lists 20+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Colorless. This attack does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2.

Mewtwo (#150) has 88 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 42 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mewtwo 10/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kimiya Masago illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 80 other cards of Mewtwo list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kimiya Masago. I count 24 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Expedition Base Set set binder is where a full Expedition Base Set set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mewtwo can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
