Machamp 9/92 · Legend Maker

Legend Maker is a set in the EX series. It was released on February 1, 2006. The printed size is 92. This checklist is longer, at 93 cards. Machamp is 9/92, in position 9 of 93 on this checklist. Before it is 8 Lapras, and after it is 10 Mew. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Machamp is a Stage 2 Fighting Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Machamp (#068), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Machoke. In this catalog that name is Machoke (#067).

Kouki Saitou illustrated this card. The same name is on 652 other cards in the catalog.

Machamp (#068) has 48 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Machamp 8/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 42 other cards of Machamp list a different HP.

The attack Derail lists 40 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless. Discard a Special Energy card, if any, attached to the Defending Pokémon. Swift Blow is another attack lists 60+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Does 60 damage plus 20 damage for each React Energy card attached to Machamp. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2.

I keep a set binder for Legend Maker, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Legend Maker set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Machamp can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
