Nidoking δ 6/101 · Dragon Frontiers

Dragon Frontiers is a set in the EX series. It was released on November 1, 2006. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. Nidoking δ is 6/101, in position 6 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is 5 Milotic δ, and after it is 7 Nidoqueen δ. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Nidoking δ is a Stage 2 Darkness Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Nidoking (#034), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Nidorino. In this catalog that name is Nidorino (#033).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Nidoking (#034) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Nidoking 11/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Nidoking, while this one is Nidoking δ. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 19 other cards of Nidoking list a different HP.

The attack Linear Attack lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Dark Horn is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. You may discard a Basic Pokémon or Evolution card from your hand. If you do, choose 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and do 20 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3.

I keep a set binder for Dragon Frontiers, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Dragon Frontiers set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Nidoking can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards and Delta Species cards. I still need this card.
