Walrein ex 99/108 · Power Keepers

Walrein is Pokédex #365, generation 3 (Hoenn). Walrein ex is a Stage 2 ex Water Pokémon with 150 HP. The card says it evolves from Sealeo. In this catalog that name is Sealeo (#364).

Walrein ex sits at 99/108 in Power Keepers, position 99 of 108. Before it is 98 Skarmory ex, and after it is 100 Flareon ★. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on February 2, 2007. The printed size is 108, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Chilling Breath is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn, when you play Walrein ex from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon, you may use this power. Your opponent can't play any Trainer cards from his or her hand during your opponent's next turn. The attack Wreck lists 70+ damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. If there is any Stadium card in play, this attack does 70 damage plus 20 more damage. Discard that Stadium card. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: When Pokémon-ex has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Walrein (#365) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2024. The earliest other card is Team Aqua's Walrein 6/95 in Team Magma vs Team Aqua (2004). That card is named Team Aqua's Walrein, while this one is Walrein ex. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 150 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Ken Ikuji illustrated that card, and Ryo Ueda illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 9 other cards of Walrein list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ryo Ueda. I count 462 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Power Keepers set binder is where a full Power Keepers set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Walrein can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
