Omanyte 70/100 · Sandstorm

Omanyte is Pokédex #138, generation 1 (Kanto). Omanyte is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 70 HP. The card says it evolves from Mysterious Fossil. The card lists Omastar, Omastar (#139) under evolves to.

Omanyte sits at 70/100 in Sandstorm, position 70 of 100. Before it is 69 Natu, and after it is 71 Onix. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on September 18, 2003. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Common.

The attack Team Assembly lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Search your deck for Omanyte, Kabuto, or any Basic Pokémon and put as many of them as you like onto your Bench. Shuffle your deck afterward. Treat the new Benched Pokémon as Basic Pokémon. Bind is another attack lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

Omanyte (#138) has 14 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Omanyte 52/62 in Fossil (1999). That card lists 40 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. Both list the rarity Common. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. 10 other cards of Omanyte list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kouki Saitou. I count 652 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Sandstorm set binder is where a full Sandstorm set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Omanyte can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
