Metagross 11/107 · Deoxys

Deoxys is a set in the EX series. It was released on February 1, 2005. The printed size is 107. This checklist is longer, at 108 cards. Metagross is 11/107, in position 11 of 108 on this checklist. Before it is 10 Ludicolo, and after it is 12 Mightyena. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Metagross is a Stage 2 Psychic Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Metagross (#376), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Metang. In this catalog that name is Metang (#375).

Hisao Nakamura illustrated this card. The same name is on 71 other cards in the catalog.

Metagross (#376) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Metagross 11/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). Both list 100 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Hisao Nakamura illustrated this one. 30 other cards of Metagross list a different HP.

Super Connectivity is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may search your discard pile for a Psychic or Metal Energy card and attach it to your Active Pokémon. Then, put 1 damage counter on that Pokémon. This power can't be used if Metagross is affected by a Special Condition. The attack Link Blast lists 70 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. If Metagross and the Defending Pokémon have a different amount of Energy attached to them, this attack's base damage is 40 instead of 70. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2.

I keep a set binder for Deoxys, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Deoxys set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Metagross can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
