Poochyena 128/217 · Ascended Heroes

Poochyena is Pokédex #261, generation 3 (Hoenn). Poochyena is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 70 HP.

Poochyena sits at 128/217 in Ascended Heroes, position 128 of 295. Before it is 127 Team Rocket's Honchkrow, and after it is 129 Mightyena. The set belongs to the Mega Evolution series. It was released on January 30, 2026. The printed size is 217. This checklist is longer, at 295 cards. The listed rarity is Common.

The attack Gnaw Off lists 30+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 more damage. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "A Pokémon with a persistent nature, it chases its chosen prey until the prey becomes exhausted." The regulation mark is H.

Poochyena (#261) has 23 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2024. The earliest other card is Poochyena 63/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 40 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. Both list the rarity Common. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Miki Tanaka illustrated this one. 19 other cards of Poochyena list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Miki Tanaka. I count 192 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Ascended Heroes set binder is where a full Ascended Heroes set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Poochyena can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Dog Pokémon. I still need this card.
