Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex 281/217 · Ascended Heroes

Mewtwo is Pokédex #150, generation 1 (Kanto). Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex is a Basic ex Psychic Pokémon with 280 HP.

Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex sits at 281/217 in Ascended Heroes, position 281 of 295. Before it is 280 Lillie's Clefairy ex, and after it is 282 Mega Diancie ex. The set belongs to the Mega Evolution series. It was released on January 30, 2026. The printed size is 217. This checklist is longer, at 295 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 217. The listed rarity is Special Illustration Rare.

Power Saver is listed as Ability. This Pokémon can't attack unless you have 4 or more Team Rocket's Pokémon in play. The attack Erasure Ball lists 160+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Colorless. You may discard up to 2 Energy from your Benched Pokémon. This attack does 60 more damage for each card you discarded in this way. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Mewtwo (#150) has 88 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 42 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mewtwo 10/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Mewtwo, while this one is Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex. That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 280 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Special Illustration Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 79 other cards of Mewtwo list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mitsuhiro Arita. I count 721 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Ascended Heroes set binder is where a full Ascended Heroes set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mewtwo can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards, Trainer's Pokémon, Team Rocket cards, Mew and Mewtwo, and Special Illustration Rares. I still need this card.
