Iono's Wattrel 71/217 · Ascended Heroes

Ascended Heroes is a set in the Mega Evolution series. It was released on January 30, 2026. The printed size is 217. This checklist is longer, at 295 cards. Iono's Wattrel is 71/217, in position 71 of 295 on this checklist. Before it is 70 Iono's Bellibolt ex, and after it is 72 Iono's Kilowattrel. The listed rarity is Common.

Iono's Wattrel is a Basic Lightning Pokémon with 60 HP. In the Pokédex this is Wattrel (#940), generation 9 (Paldea).

Akira Komayama illustrated this card. The same name is on 239 other cards in the catalog.

Wattrel (#940) has 11 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2023 to 2026. The earliest other card is Wattrel 77/198 in Scarlet & Violet (2023). That card is named Wattrel, while this one is Iono's Wattrel. That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 60 HP. Both list the rarity Common. Saya Tsuruta illustrated that card, and Akira Komayama illustrated this one. The regulation mark there is G, and here it is I. 2 other cards of Wattrel list a different HP.

The attack Quick Attack lists 10+ damage. The cost is Lightning. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 more damage. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "When its wings catch the wind, the bones within produce electricity. This Pokémon dives into the ocean, catching prey by electrocuting them." The regulation mark is I.

I keep a set binder for Ascended Heroes, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Ascended Heroes set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Wattrel can fill a slot in Generation 9 binder (Paldea). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer's Pokémon, Iono and her Pokémon, and Bird Pokémon. I still need this card.
