Zarude 56/84 · Pitch Black

Zarude is Pokédex #893, generation 8 (Galar). Zarude is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 130 HP.

Zarude sits at 56/84 in Pitch Black, position 56 of 120. Before it is 55 Morpeko ex, and after it is 57 Maschiff. The set belongs to the Mega Evolution series. It was released on July 17, 2026. The printed size is 84. This checklist is longer, at 120 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Overhead Throw lists 30 damage. The cost is Darkness. This attack also does 30 damage to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Shadowy Whip is another attack lists 100+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Darkness. If your Benched Pokémon have any Shadowy Darkness Energy attached, this attack does 70 more damage. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Within dense forests, this Pokemon lives in a pack with others of its kind. It's incredibly aggressive, and the other Pokemon of the forest fear it." The regulation mark is J.

Zarude (#893) has 8 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2020 to 2024. The earliest other card is Zarude V 22/185 in Vivid Voltage (2020). That card is named Zarude V, while this one is Zarude. That card lists 210 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo V, and here it is Rare. PLANETA Igarashi illustrated that card, and matazo illustrated this one. The regulation mark there is D, and here it is J. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 7 other cards of Zarude list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads matazo. I count 11 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Pitch Black set binder is where a full Pitch Black set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Zarude can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). I still need this card.
