Dark Octillery 62/105 · Neo Destiny

Octillery is Pokédex #224, generation 2 (Johto). Dark Octillery is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 60 HP. The card lists level 30. The card says it evolves from Remoraid. In this catalog that name is Remoraid (#223).

Dark Octillery sits at 62/105 in Neo Destiny, position 62 of 113. Before it is 61 Cyndaquil, and after it is 63 Dratini. The set belongs to the Neo series. It was released on February 28, 2002. The printed size is 105. This checklist is longer, at 113 cards. The listed rarity is Common.

The attack Ink Blast lists 20+ damage. The cost is Water. This attack does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy attached to Dark Octillery but not used to pay for this attack's Energy cost. You can't add more than 20 damage in this way. Tentacle Wrap is another attack lists 20 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. If tails, during your opponent's next turn, your opponent pays Colorless more to retreat the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It likes to sleep in rock caves and will even steal other Octillery's nests."

Octillery (#224) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Octillery 34/64 in Neo Revelation (2001). That card is named Octillery, while this one is Dark Octillery. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 60 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Common. Tomokazu Komiya illustrated that card, and Shin-ichi Yoshida illustrated this one. 18 other cards of Octillery list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shin-ichi Yoshida. I count 50 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Neo Destiny set binder is where a full Neo Destiny set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Octillery can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Team Rocket cards. I still need this card.
