Venusaur 6/17 · POP Series 2

POP Series 2 is a set in the POP series. It was released on August 1, 2005. The printed size is 17, and the checklist is the same length. Venusaur is 6/17, in position 6 of 17 on this checklist. Before it is 5 Tauros, and after it is 7 Ivysaur. The listed rarity is Rare.

Venusaur is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Venusaur (#003), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Ivysaur. In this catalog that name is Ivysaur (#002).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Venusaur (#003) has 46 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Venusaur 15/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 46 other cards of Venusaur list a different HP.

The attack Wide Solarbeam lists 20 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless. Does 20 damage to 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Hard Plant is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Grass, Colorless. Venusaur can't use Hard Plant during your next turn. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 3.

I keep a set binder for POP Series 2, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the POP Series 2 set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Venusaur can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
