Kartana 19/214 · Unbroken Bonds

Unbroken Bonds is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on May 3, 2019. The printed size is 214. This checklist is longer, at 238 cards. Kartana is 19/214, in position 19 of 238 on this checklist. Before it is 18 Grubbin, and after it is 20 Reshiram & Charizard-GX. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Kartana is a Basic Ultra Beast Grass Pokémon with 70 HP. In the Pokédex this is Kartana (#798), generation 7 (Alola).

Shin Nagasawa illustrated this card. The same name is on 303 other cards in the catalog.

Kartana (#798) has 6 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 3 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2019. The earliest other card is Kartana-GX 70/111 in Crimson Invasion (2017). That card is named Kartana-GX, while this one is Kartana. That card lists 170 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo GX, and here it is Rare Holo. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. 6 other cards of Kartana list a different HP.

The attack Big Cut lists 10+ damage. The cost is Grass. If you have exactly 4 Prize cards remaining, this attack does 120 more damage. False Swipe is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, put damage counters on your opponent's Active Pokémon until its remaining HP is 10. Weakness is Fire ×2. The flavor text reads "This Ultra Beast's body, which is as thin as paper, is like a sharpened sword."

I keep a set binder for Unbroken Bonds, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Unbroken Bonds set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kartana can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). Themed lists that include this exact card are Ultra Beasts. I still need this card.
