Hypno 72/214 · Unbroken Bonds

Hypno is Pokédex #097, generation 1 (Kanto). Hypno is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Drowzee. In this catalog that name is Drowzee (#096).

Hypno sits at 72/214 in Unbroken Bonds, position 72 of 238. Before it is 71 Drowzee, and after it is 73 Koffing. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on May 3, 2019. The printed size is 214. This checklist is longer, at 238 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

Hypnotic Pendulum is listed as Ability. When your opponent's Active Pokémon is Knocked Out, flip a coin. If heads, choose which of your opponent's Benched Pokémon becomes their new Active Pokémon. The attack Stir the Brain lists 30+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 10 more damage for each card in your opponent's hand. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "In Alola, Komala is Hypno's main target. It rarely harms people."

Hypno (#097) has 23 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Hypno 8/62 in Fossil (1999). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and sui illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Hypno list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads sui. I count 194 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Unbroken Bonds set binder is where a full Unbroken Bonds set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Hypno can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
