Escavalier 142/236 · Unified Minds

Unified Minds is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 2, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 261 cards. Escavalier is 142/236, in position 143 of 261 on this checklist. Before it is 141 Mawile-GX, and after it is 143 Cottonee. The listed rarity is Rare.

Escavalier is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Escavalier (#589), generation 5 (Unova). The card says it evolves from Karrablast. In this catalog that name is Karrablast (#588).

Satoshi Shirai illustrated this card. The same name is on 50 other cards in the catalog.

Escavalier (#589) has 9 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Escavalier 80/101 in Noble Victories (2011). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Satoshi Shirai illustrated this one. 8 other cards of Escavalier list a different HP.

The attack Discerning Spear lists 80 damage. The cost is Metal. If your opponent's Active Pokémon has no damage counters on it before this attack does damage, this attack does nothing. Iron Lance is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Wearing the shell covering they stole from Shelmet, they defend themselves and attack with two lances."

I keep a set binder for Unified Minds, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Unified Minds set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Escavalier can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
