Magmortar 22/236 · Unified Minds

Magmortar is Pokédex #467, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Magmortar is a Stage 1 Fire Pokémon with 130 HP. The card says it evolves from Magmar. In this catalog that name is Magmar (#126).

Magmortar sits at 22/236 in Unified Minds, position 22 of 261. Before it is 21 Magmar, and after it is 23 Numel. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 2, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 261 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Smoke Bomb lists 50 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon tries to attack during your opponent's next turn, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, that attack doesn't happen. Flamethrower is another attack lists 120 damage. The cost is Fire, Colorless, Colorless. Discard an Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "There are still quite a few factories that rely on the flames provided by Magmortar to process metals."

Magmortar (#467) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2025. The earliest other card is Magmortar DP20/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Daisuke Ito illustrated that card, and KEIICHIRO ITO illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Magmortar list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads KEIICHIRO ITO. I count 50 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Unified Minds set binder is where a full Unified Minds set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Magmortar can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
