Toxapex-GX 136/145 · Guardians Rising

Toxapex is Pokédex #748, generation 7 (Alola). Toxapex-GX is a Stage 1 GX Psychic Pokémon with 210 HP. The card says it evolves from Mareanie. In this catalog that name is Mareanie (#747).

Toxapex-GX sits at 136/145 in Guardians Rising, position 146 of 180. Before it is 135 Tapu Koko-GX, and after it is 137 Tapu Lele-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on May 5, 2017. The printed size is 145. This checklist is longer, at 180 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

The attack Spike Cannon lists 30× damage. The cost is Psychic. Flip 4 coins. This attack does 30 damage for each heads. Super Intense Poison is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Psychic. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Poisoned. Put 10 damage counters instead of 1 on that Pokémon between turns. Total Shelter-GX is another attack lists 150 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Psychic. Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon during your opponent's next turn. (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.) Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: Pokémon-GX rule: When your Pokémon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Toxapex (#748) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 6 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2022. The earliest other card is Toxapex 63/149 in Sun & Moon (2017). That card is named Toxapex, while this one is Toxapex-GX. That card lists 110 HP, and this one lists 210 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 5 other cards of Toxapex list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Guardians Rising set binder is where a full Guardians Rising set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Toxapex can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). I still need this card.
