Lairon 66/111 · Crimson Invasion

Lairon is Pokédex #305, generation 3 (Hoenn). Lairon is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Aron. In this catalog that name is Aron (#304). The card lists Aggron, Aggron (#306) under evolves to.

Lairon sits at 66/111 in Crimson Invasion, position 67 of 126. Before it is 65 Aron, and after it is 67 Aggron. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on November 3, 2017. The printed size is 111. This checklist is longer, at 126 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Metal Claw lists 20 damage. The cost is Metal. Hammer In is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Metal, Metal, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It loves iron ore. Groups of them fight for territory by bashing one another with their steel bodies."

Lairon (#305) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2024. The earliest other card is Lairon 36/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Atsuko Nishida illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 20 other cards of Lairon list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Atsuko Nishida. I count 408 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Crimson Invasion set binder is where a full Crimson Invasion set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Lairon can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Atsuko Nishida cards, later series. I still need this card.
