Magmortar 19/156 · Ultra Prism

Ultra Prism is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 2, 2018. The printed size is 156. This checklist is longer, at 178 cards. Magmortar is 19/156, in position 19 of 178 on this checklist. Before it is 18 Magmar, and after it is 20 Chimchar. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Magmortar is a Stage 1 Fire Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Magmortar (#467), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Magmar. In this catalog that name is Magmar (#126).

nagimiso illustrated this card. The same name is on 156 other cards in the catalog.

Magmortar (#467) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2025. The earliest other card is Magmortar DP20/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Daisuke Ito illustrated that card, and nagimiso illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Magmortar list a different HP.

Incandescent Body is listed as Ability. If this Pokémon is your Active Pokémon and is damaged by an opponent's attack (even if this Pokémon is Knocked Out), the Attacking Pokémon is now Burned. The attack Fire Blaster lists 80+ damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless. You may discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon. If you do, this attack does 80 more damage. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "From its arm, it launches fireballs hotter than 3,500 degrees Fahrenheit. Its arm starts to melt when it fires a whole barrage."

I keep a set binder for Ultra Prism, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Ultra Prism set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Magmortar can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
