Alolan Dugtrio 79/156 · Ultra Prism

Ultra Prism is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 2, 2018. The printed size is 156. This checklist is longer, at 178 cards. Alolan Dugtrio is 79/156, in position 79 of 178 on this checklist. Before it is 78 Alolan Diglett, and after it is 80 Magnemite. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Alolan Dugtrio is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 60 HP. In the Pokédex this is Dugtrio (#051), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Alolan Diglett. In this catalog that name is Diglett (#050).

Megumi Mizutani illustrated this card. The same name is on 133 other cards in the catalog.

Dugtrio (#051) has 30 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 25 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Dugtrio 19/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Dugtrio, while this one is Alolan Dugtrio. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 60 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Keiji Kinebuchi illustrated that card, and Megumi Mizutani illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 28 other cards of Dugtrio list a different HP.

The attack Gold Rush lists 30× damage. Discard any number of Metal Energy cards from your hand. This attack does 30 damage for each card you discarded in this way. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "These Pokémon are cherished in the Alola region, where they are thought to be feminine deities of the land incarnate."

I keep a set binder for Ultra Prism, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Ultra Prism set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dugtrio can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Alolan forms. I still need this card.
