Lanturn 50/168 · Celestial Storm

Lanturn is Pokédex #171, generation 2 (Johto). Lanturn is a Stage 1 Lightning Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Chinchou. In this catalog that name is Chinchou (#170).

Lanturn sits at 50/168 in Celestial Storm, position 51 of 187. Before it is 49 Chinchou, and after it is 51 Electrike. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 3, 2018. The printed size is 168. This checklist is longer, at 187 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Energy Grounding is listed as Ability. When 1 of your Pokémon is Knocked Out by damage from an opponent's attack, you may move a basic Energy card from that Pokémon to this Pokémon. The attack Lightning Strike lists 70+ damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. You may discard all Lightning Energy from this Pokémon. If you do, this attack does 70 more damage. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Metal -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "This Pokémon flashes a bright light that blinds its prey. This creates an opening for it to deliver an electrical attack."

Lanturn (#171) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Lanturn 38/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Aya Kusube illustrated this one. 21 other cards of Lanturn list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Aya Kusube. I count 127 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Celestial Storm set binder is where a full Celestial Storm set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Lanturn can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
