Gyarados 43/193 · Paldea Evolved

Gyarados is Pokédex #130, generation 1 (Kanto). Gyarados is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 180 HP. The card says it evolves from Magikarp. In this catalog that name is Magikarp (#129).

Gyarados sits at 43/193 in Paldea Evolved, position 43 of 279. Before it is 42 Magikarp, and after it is 44 Marill. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on June 9, 2023. The printed size is 193. This checklist is longer, at 279 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Revengeful Storm lists 80+ damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. If you have more Prize cards remaining than your opponent, this attack does 100 more damage. Berserker Tackle is another attack lists 200 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless, Colorless. This Pokémon also does 50 damage to itself. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "Once it appears, it goes on a rampage. It remains enraged until it demolishes everything around it." The regulation mark is G.

Gyarados (#130) has 56 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 38 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Gyarados 6/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Yuya Oka illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 4. 50 other cards of Gyarados list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Yuya Oka. I count 37 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Paldea Evolved set binder is where a full Paldea Evolved set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Gyarados can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Magikarp and Gyarados and Giant Pokémon. I still need this card.
