Steelix 125/182 · Paradox Rift

Paradox Rift is a set in the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on November 3, 2023. The printed size is 182. This checklist is longer, at 266 cards. Steelix is 125/182, in position 125 of 266 on this checklist. Before it is 124 Roaring Moon ex, and after it is 126 Jirachi. The listed rarity is Rare.

Steelix is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 180 HP. In the Pokédex this is Steelix (#208), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Onix. In this catalog that name is Onix (#095).

Po-Suzuki illustrated this card. The same name is on 4 other cards in the catalog.

Steelix (#208) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Steelix 15/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 110 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Po-Suzuki illustrated this one. 28 other cards of Steelix list a different HP.

The attack Earthquake lists 130 damage. The cost is Metal. This attack also does 30 damage to each of your Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Heavy Impact is another attack lists 180 damage. The cost is Metal, Metal, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Grass -30. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "It is thought its body transformed as a result of iron accumulating internally from swallowing soil." The regulation mark is G.

I keep a set binder for Paradox Rift, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Paradox Rift set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Steelix can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Giant Pokémon. I still need this card.
