Frigibax 17/91 · Paldean Fates

Frigibax is Pokédex #996, generation 9 (Paldea). Frigibax is a Basic Water Pokémon with 70 HP.

Frigibax sits at 17/91 in Paldean Fates, position 17 of 245. Before it is 16 Lapras, and after it is 18 Pikachu. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on January 26, 2024. The printed size is 91. This checklist is longer, at 245 cards. The listed rarity is Common.

The attack Collect lists no damage number. The cost is Water. Draw a card. Beat is another attack lists 20 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Frigibax absorbs heat through its dorsal fin and converts the heat into ice energy. The higher the temperature, the more energy Frigibax stores." The regulation mark is G.

Frigibax (#996) has 4 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 2 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2023 to 2024. The earliest other card is Frigibax 57/193 in Paldea Evolved (2023). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. Both list the rarity Common. Akira Komayama illustrated that card, and rika illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 2 other cards of Frigibax list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads rika. I count 12 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Paldean Fates set binder is where a full Paldean Fates set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Frigibax can fill a slot in Generation 9 binder (Paldea). Themed lists that include this exact card are Winter: Ice Pokémon and Pseudo-legendary lines. I still need this card.
