Venusaur ex 1/142 · Stellar Crown

Stellar Crown is a set in the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on September 13, 2024. The printed size is 142. This checklist is longer, at 175 cards. Venusaur ex is 1/142, in position 1 of 175 on this checklist. The next card is 2 Ledyba. The listed rarity is Double Rare.

Venusaur ex is a Stage 2 ex Grass Pokémon with 340 HP. In the Pokédex this is Venusaur (#003), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Ivysaur. In this catalog that name is Ivysaur (#002).

Venusaur (#003) has 46 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Venusaur 15/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Venusaur, while this one is Venusaur ex. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 340 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Double Rare. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 4. 43 other cards of Venusaur list a different HP.

Tranquil Flower is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, if this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, you may heal 60 damage from 1 of your Pokémon. The attack Dangerous Toxwhip lists 150 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused and Poisoned. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The card text says: Pokémon ex rule: When your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is G.

I keep a set binder for Stellar Crown, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Stellar Crown set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Venusaur can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Kanto starters, without Charizard and Card number 1. I still need this card.
