Polteageist 90/202 · Sword & Shield

Sword & Shield is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on February 7, 2020. The printed size is 202. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. Polteageist is 90/202, in position 90 of 216 on this checklist. Before it is 89 Sinistea, and after it is 91 Indeedee V. The listed rarity is Rare.

Polteageist is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 60 HP. In the Pokédex this is Polteageist (#855), generation 8 (Galar). The card says it evolves from Sinistea. In this catalog that name is Sinistea (#854).

Shin Nagasawa illustrated this card. The same name is on 303 other cards in the catalog.

Polteageist (#855) has 5 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 4 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2019 to 2023. The earliest other card is Polteageist V SWSH021/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos (2019). That card is named Polteageist V, while this one is Polteageist. That card lists 170 HP, and this one lists 60 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. PLANETA Igarashi illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. 2 other cards of Polteageist list a different HP.

The attack Teatime lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Each player draws 2 cards. Poltergeist is another attack lists 50× damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Your opponent reveals their hand. This attack does 50 damage for each Trainer card you find there. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This species lives in antique teapots. Most pots are forgeries, but on rare occasions, an authentic work is found." The regulation mark is D.

I keep a set binder for Sword & Shield, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Sword & Shield set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Polteageist can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). Themed lists that include this exact card are Sweets and snacks Pokémon. I still need this card.
