Rhyperior 99/202 · Sword & Shield

Rhyperior is Pokédex #464, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Rhyperior is a Stage 2 Fighting Pokémon with 190 HP. The card says it evolves from Rhydon. In this catalog that name is Rhydon (#112).

Rhyperior sits at 99/202 in Sword & Shield, position 99 of 216. Before it is 98 Rhydon, and after it is 100 Sudowoodo. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on February 7, 2020. The printed size is 202. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Rock Tumble lists 90 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. This attack's damage isn't affected by Resistance. Bedrock Shake is another attack lists 120 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. This attack also does 60 damage to each Benched Pokémon that has any damage counters on it (both yours and your opponent's). (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "It relies on its carapace to deflect incoming attacks and throw its enemy off balance. As soon as that happens, it drives its drill into the foe." The regulation mark is D.

Rhyperior (#464) has 14 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2024. The earliest other card is Rhyperior 12/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 140 HP, and this one lists 190 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and Satoshi Shirai illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Rhyperior list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Satoshi Shirai. I count 50 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Sword & Shield set binder is where a full Sword & Shield set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rhyperior can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
