Giratina VSTAR 201/196 · Lost Origin

Giratina is Pokédex #487, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Giratina VSTAR is a VSTAR Dragon Pokémon with 280 HP. The card says it evolves from Giratina V. In this catalog that name is Giratina (#487).

Giratina VSTAR sits at 201/196 in Lost Origin, position 201 of 217. Before it is 200 Drapion VSTAR, and after it is 202 Hisuian Goodra VSTAR. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on September 9, 2022. The printed size is 196. This checklist is longer, at 217 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 196. The listed rarity is Rare Rainbow.

The attack Lost Impact lists 280 damage. The cost is Grass, Psychic, Colorless. Put 2 Energy attached to your Pokémon in the Lost Zone. Star Requiem is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Grass, Psychic. You can use this attack only if you have 10 or more cards in the Lost Zone. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is Knocked Out. (You can't use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.) Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: VSTAR rule: When your Pokémon VSTAR is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

Giratina (#487) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2023. The earliest other card is Giratina LV.X DP38/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Giratina LV.X, while this one is Giratina VSTAR. That card lists 130 HP, and this one lists 280 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Rainbow. Shizurow illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 26 other cards of Giratina list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Lost Origin set binder is where a full Lost Origin set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Giratina can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. I still need this card.
