Hisuian Basculegion 45/196 · Lost Origin

Basculegion is Pokédex #902, generation 8 (Galar). Hisuian Basculegion is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Hisuian Basculin. In this catalog that name is Basculin (#550).

Hisuian Basculegion sits at 45/196 in Lost Origin, position 45 of 217. Before it is 44 Hisuian Basculin, and after it is 46 Ducklett. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on September 9, 2022. The printed size is 196. This checklist is longer, at 217 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Upstream Spirits lists 20× damage. This attack does 20 damage for each basic Energy card in your discard pile. Then, shuffle those cards into your deck. Water Shot is another attack lists 70 damage. The cost is Water. Discard an Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Clads itself in the souls of comrades that perished before fulfilling their goals of journeying upstream. No other species throughout all Hisui's rivers is Basculegion's equal." The regulation mark is F.

Basculegion (#902) has 2 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 2 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2019 to 2022. The earliest other card is Hisuian Basculegion SWSH205/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos (2019). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Pani Kobayashi illustrated that card, and AKIRA EGAWA illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 2 other cards of Basculegion list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads AKIRA EGAWA. I count 83 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Lost Origin set binder is where a full Lost Origin set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Basculegion can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). Themed lists that include this exact card are Hisuian and Paldean forms. I still need this card.
