Rhyperior V 181/189 · Darkness Ablaze

Rhyperior is Pokédex #464, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Rhyperior V is a Basic V Fighting Pokémon with 230 HP.

Rhyperior V sits at 181/189 in Darkness Ablaze, position 181 of 201. Before it is 180 Vikavolt V, and after it is 182 Crobat V. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on August 14, 2020. The printed size is 189. This checklist is longer, at 201 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

The attack Drill Run lists 80 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Discard an Energy from your opponent's Active Pokémon. Heavy Rock Artillery is another attack lists 210 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. During your next turn, this Pokémon can't use Heavy Rock Artillery. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is D.

Rhyperior (#464) has 14 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2024. The earliest other card is Rhyperior 12/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card is named Rhyperior, while this one is Rhyperior V. That card lists 140 HP, and this one lists 230 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and Eske Yoshinob illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Rhyperior list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Eske Yoshinob. I count 177 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Darkness Ablaze set binder is where a full Darkness Ablaze set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rhyperior can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
