Ditto V 50/72 · Shining Fates

Shining Fates is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on February 19, 2021. The printed size is 72. This checklist is longer, at 73 cards. Ditto V is a Basic V Colorless Pokémon with 170 HP. In the Pokédex this is Ditto (#132), generation 1 (Kanto).

Saki Hayashiro illustrated this card. The same name is on 40 other cards in the catalog.

Ditto (#132) has 31 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Ditto 3/62 in Fossil (1999). That card is named Ditto, while this one is Ditto V. That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 170 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo V. Keiji Kinebuchi illustrated that card, and Saki Hayashiro illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 30 other cards of Ditto list a different HP.

V Transformation is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may choose a Basic Pokémon V from your discard pile and switch it with this Pokémon. Any attached cards, damage counters, Special Conditions, turns in play, and any other effects remain on the new Pokémon. The attack Stick On lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Attach a basic Energy card from your discard pile to this Pokémon. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is D.

I keep a set binder for Shining Fates, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Shining Fates set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Ditto can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
