Swellow 103/146 · XY

Swellow is Pokédex #277, generation 3 (Hoenn). Swellow is a Stage 1 Colorless Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Taillow. In this catalog that name is Taillow (#276).

Swellow sits at 103/146 in XY, position 103 of 146. Before it is 102 Taillow, and after it is 104 Skitty. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on February 5, 2014. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

Drive Off is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may have your opponent switch his or her Active Pokémon with 1 of his or her Benched Pokémon. The attack Wing Attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "If its two tail feathers are standing at attention, it is proof of good health. It soars elegantly in the sky."

Swellow (#277) has 13 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Swellow 46/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mizue illustrated this one. 9 other cards of Swellow list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mizue. I count 184 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY set binder is where a full XY set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Swellow can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
