Chesnaught 14/146 · XY

XY is a set in the XY series. It was released on February 5, 2014. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. Chesnaught is 14/146, in position 14 of 146 on this checklist. Before it is 13 Quilladin, and after it is 15 Scatterbug. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Chesnaught is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 160 HP. In the Pokédex this is Chesnaught (#652), generation 6 (Kalos). The card says it evolves from Quilladin. In this catalog that name is Quilladin (#651).

5ban Graphics illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,629 other cards in the catalog.

Chesnaught (#652) has 8 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 5 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2013 to 2026. The earliest other card is Chesnaught-EX XY18/211 in XY Black Star Promos (2013). That card is named Chesnaught-EX, while this one is Chesnaught. That card lists 180 HP, and this one lists 160 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. 6 other cards of Chesnaught list a different HP.

Spiky Shield is listed as Ability. If this Pokémon is your Active Pokémon and is damaged by an opponent's attack (even if this Pokémon is Knocked Out), put 3 damage counters on the Attacking Pokémon. The attack Touchdown lists 90 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Heal 20 damage from this Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "Its Tackle is forceful enough to flip a 50-ton tank. It shields its allies from danger with its own body."

I keep a set binder for XY, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the XY set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Chesnaught can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). I still need this card.
