Emolga-EX 143/146 · XY

Emolga is Pokédex #587, generation 5 (Unova). Emolga-EX is a Basic EX Lightning Pokémon with 110 HP.

Emolga-EX sits at 143/146 in XY, position 143 of 146. Before it is 142 Blastoise-EX, and after it is 144 Yveltal-EX. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on February 5, 2014. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

The attack Energy Glide lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Search your deck for a Lightning Energy card and attach it to this Pokémon. Shuffle your deck afterward. If you attached Energy in this way, switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Electron Crush is another attack lists 60+ damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless, Colorless. You may discard an Energy attached to this Pokémon. If you do, this attack does 30 more damage. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Emolga (#587) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Emolga 32/98 in Emerging Powers (2011). That card is named Emolga, while this one is Emolga-EX. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Common, and here it is Rare Ultra. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Ryo Ueda illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Emolga list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ryo Ueda. I count 462 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY set binder is where a full XY set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Emolga can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). Themed lists that include this exact card are Pikachu's friends. I still need this card.
