Raichu 43/146 · XY

XY is a set in the XY series. It was released on February 5, 2014. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. Raichu is 43/146, in position 43 of 146 on this checklist. Before it is 42 Pikachu, and after it is 44 Voltorb. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Raichu is a Stage 1 Lightning Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Raichu (#026), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Pikachu. In this catalog that name is Pikachu (#025).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Raichu (#026) has 70 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 51 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Raichu 14/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 55 other cards of Raichu list a different HP.

The attack Circle Circuit lists 20× damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 20 damage times the number of your Benched Pokémon. Thunderbolt is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Discard all Energy attached to this Pokémon. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Metal -20. The flavor text reads "When its electricity builds, its muscles are stimulated, and it becomes more aggressive than usual."

I keep a set binder for XY, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the XY set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Raichu can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards and Pikachu's friends. I still need this card.
