Kabutops 39/124 · Fates Collide

Kabutops is Pokédex #141, generation 1 (Kanto). Kabutops is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 150 HP. The card says it evolves from Kabuto. In this catalog that name is Kabuto (#140).

Kabutops sits at 39/124 in Fates Collide, position 39 of 129. Before it is 38 Kabuto, and after it is 40 Larvitar. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on May 2, 2016. The printed size is 124. This checklist is longer, at 129 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Cling lists 50 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Heal from this Pokémon the same amount of damage you did to your opponent's Active Pokémon. X-Scissor is another attack lists 80+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 60 more damage. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "A slim and fast swimmer. It slices its prey with its sharp sickles and drinks the body fluids."

Kabutops (#141) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Kabutops 9/62 in Fossil (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 150 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kyoko Umemoto illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 16 other cards of Kabutops list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kyoko Umemoto. I count 174 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Fates Collide set binder is where a full Fates Collide set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kabutops can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
