M Steelix-EX 68/114 · Steam Siege

Steam Siege is a set in the XY series. It was released on August 3, 2016. The printed size is 114. This checklist is longer, at 116 cards. M Steelix-EX is 68/114, in position 68 of 116 on this checklist. Before it is 67 Steelix-EX, and after it is 69 Shieldon. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

M Steelix-EX is a MEGA EX Metal Fighting Pokémon with 240 HP. In the Pokédex this is Steelix (#208), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Steelix-EX. In this catalog that name is Steelix (#208).

5ban Graphics illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,629 other cards in the catalog.

Steelix (#208) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Steelix 15/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Steelix, while this one is M Steelix-EX. That card lists 110 HP, and this one lists 240 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 32 other cards of Steelix list a different HP.

The attack Canyon Axe lists 160 damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 4. The card text says: Mega Evolution rule: When 1 of your Pokémon becomes a Mega Evolution Pokémon, your turn ends. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Steam Siege, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Steam Siege set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Steelix can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
